As Grand Rapids Audubon Club President from 1954 to 1955, he established a scholarship to be used for enrollment in environmental, biology, or science/nature programs, workshops, or courses. GRAC continues to award the scholarship in keeping with the ideals advocated by Mr. Stiles.
